Primary Requirements: 3-5 years of experience in structured cabling for Voice, and Video, Data
Secondary Requirements*: Fiber, Access Control, Security, CCTV, Nurse Call, Intercom, Paging and/or Audio Visual
*Skill set in these systems is a plus, but not required. However, the candidate must show an aptitude to learn and implement new systems.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Perform a variety of installation tasks to include rough-in, termination, testing, programming and all necessary verbal/written communications
Lead other HS Solutions technicians and contractors on successful implementations to industry and company standards and project requirements
Perform service call activities for structured cabling and other low voltage systems
Demonstrate resourcefulness in assessing and troubleshooting of issues and problems
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications and schematics
Support HS Solutions business development and sales team in a technical capacity to grow the opportunity pipeline and win sales
Continually learn new products, upgrades and software programs related to low voltage systems
Provide specific solutions and recommendations to customers on most time and cost efficient methods
Represent HS Solutions in a professional manner at all times
Abide by OSHA regulations and use protective equipment as required
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Must have working knowledge of hand and power tools
Excellent interpersonal skills, good verbal and written communication
Solid grasp of basic electrical theory
Work independently or on a team at multiple locations in and around Washington, DC
Ability to exercise sound judgment and find effective solutions
Ability to troubleshoot in a fast-paced environment
Must have clean driving and criminal records and successfully pass a drug test
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Must be able to climb, crawl and raise objects overhead
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
At minimum, must be a high school graduate
Able to read and write basic English and compute basic math functions
BICSI certification a plus
