Security Lead Technician

Primary Requirements:  10+ years of expert experience in commercial Access Control, CCTV and Intrusion Detection Alarm Systems
Secondary Requirements:  Structured Cabling, Emergency Call, Intercom and/or Audio Visual

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

  • Lead team of technicians and perform security installations that include Access Control, CCTV and Intrusion Detection Alarm Systems
  • Manage projects to deliver successful implementations by meeting project requirements and adhering to industry and company standards
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure availability of materials and equipment
  • Manage resource labor hours, which include collecting timesheets and allocating labor tasks
  • Interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications and schematics
  • Participate in on-site progress meetings and provide updates to account managers
  • Identify risks and provide specific solutions and recommendations to customers on most time and cost efficient methods
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness in assessing and troubleshooting of issues and problems
  • Inspect quality of finished projects to ensure conformation of all specifications and requirements
  • Program and test installed security systems and train customers as required
  • Support HS Solutions business development and sales team in a technical capacity to grow the opportunity pipeline and win sales
  • Continually learn new products, upgrades and software programs related to low voltage systems
  • Represent HS Solutions in a professional manner at all times
  • Abide by OSHA regulations and use protective equipment as required

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Installation and troubleshooting experience with CCTV (analog and IP based; Pelco, Axis, Honeywell), Access Control (GE, Keyscan, Doorking) and Intrusion Detection (GE, Honeywell, Ademco)
Experience working in large enterprise commercial environment
Knowledge in connector termination and relay configurations
Knowledge in mechanical retrofitting of door frames and gates for electric strikes and magnetic locking devices; and peripheral devices (motion sensors, RTE, push buttons and contacts)
Knowledge in programming and training onsite personnel in numerous Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion Detection systems
Knowledge and practical experience with Internet and Networking commercial systems
Ability to manage and motivate teams with proven leadership experience
Excellent interpersonal skills, good verbal and written communication
Must be able to work independently or on a team at locations in and around Washington, DC
Ability to exercise sound judgment and find effective solutions
Familiar with industry standards for ADA and life safety codes.
Must have clean driving and criminal records and successfully pass a drug test

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to work on heights (lifts and ladders)
Must be able to climb, crawl and raise objects overhead

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
BICSI certification strongly desired but not required
At minimum, must be a high school graduate
Able to read and write basic English and compute basic math functions
Bachelor’s degree in related field or business a plus
