Primary Requirements: 5-10 years of expert experience in commercial installation, maintenance and repair of A/V systems
Secondary Requirements: Structured Cabling, Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Detection and/or Intercom
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
- Lead a team of technicians in the installation, configuring, programming and testing of A/V equipment and systems
- Manage projects to deliver successful implementations by meeting project requirements and adhering to industry and company standards
- Coordinate with staff to ensure availability of materials and equipment
- Manage resource labor hours, which include collecting timesheets and allocating labor tasks
- Interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications and schematics
- Participate in on-site progress meetings and provide updates to account managers
- Identify risks and provide specific solutions and recommendations to customers on most time and cost efficient methods
- Demonstrate resourcefulness in assessing and troubleshooting of issues and problems
- Inspect quality of finished projects to ensure conformation of all specifications and requirements
- Set up and test installed A/V systems and train customers as required
- Support HS Solutions business development and sales team in a technical capacity to grow the opportunity pipeline and win sales
- Continually learn new products, upgrades and software programs related to low voltage systems
- Represent HS Solutions in a professional manner at all times
- Abide by OSHA regulations and use protective equipment as required
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications and designs, and implement complex A/V systems
Experience in installing and configuring, but not limited to:
- Auditorium and theater A/V systems
- Public address and intercommunication systems
- Amplifiers, mixers, microphones
- Electronic whiteboards (SMART, Promethean)
- School clock and bell systems (Valcom)
- A/V closet and rack build-out
- Projection displays, screens and related A/V systems
- Entertainment systems, flat panel displays, distributed audio systems (DAS)
- Nurse Call/Emergency Call systems
Experience working in large enterprise commercial environment and construction sites
Knowledge and practical experience interpreting technical specifications and drawings
Ability to manage and motivate teams with proven leadership experience
Excellent interpersonal skills, good verbal and written communication
Must be able to work independently or on a team at locations in and around Washington, DC
Ability to exercise sound judgment and find effective solutions
Familiar with industry standards for ADA and life safety codes
Must have clean driving and criminal records and successfully pass a drug test
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to work on heights (lifts and ladders)
Must be able to climb, crawl and raise objects overhead
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
BICSI certification strongly desired
At minimum, must be a high school graduate
Able to read and write basic English and compute basic math functions
Bachelor’s degree in related field or business a plus
