Project Cost Estimator

JOB DUTIES:

As part of project team prepares estimates, proposals, project submittals, periodical

project status reports for low voltage electrical and communications solutions for commercial,

governmental, educational and residential construction/renovation markets. Develops supplier

interface managing appropriate material and equipment procurement to ensure timely availability,

competitive pricing and quality. Confers with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and

subcontractors on changes/adjustments to cost estimates. Analyzes and interprets trends in

project budget status, cost status outlook reports setting up cost monitoring and reporting systems

and procedures.

Tracks manpower requirements/utilization and productivity. Maintains documentation required

for customers, vendors and government organizations.

Participates in on-site progress meetings with general contractors (GCs) and clients, as required.

Other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor’s in Business or related discipline, with at least 3 semester hours in Calculus plus 21 semester hours in statistical, economics, finance, accounting, and/or quantitative analysis coursework.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays if required.
